Tainan, Taiwan

Tainan, Taiwan (Population: 711 ,000) is the fourth largest city in Taiwan and its cultural capital. The city is a major eco­nomic center and the site of National Cheng Kung University. There are over 150 temples located there. Tainan was Taiwan’s provincial capitol from 1663 to 1885.

San Jose celebrated its 30th Anniversary with Tainan in 2008. The Mayor and citizen's of Tainan visited for a week of cultural events and meetings to promote economic exchange between our cities.
